I find printing a challenge. I do have an HP Officejet Pro 6830. To get it
to work I found I needed to install this in the following order:
Just to update the thread:
I decided to go with LPRng, and with the newest source (3.8.35) and
newest recipe from the BLFS book (6.3), plus a little ./config tweaking
due to a compiler WERROR, LPRng built without further error and seems to
work well.
NOTE: I was using the "Personal Firewall" rules as set out in "Setting
Up a Network Firewall" in the BLFS book, v. 2016-02-25. These rules
prevented communication between my computer and printer, so keep this in
mind if using these rules with a networked printer through LPRng.
