I don't know about kinfocenter, but I suspect there's nothing standardised... it's the kind of thing distros maintain patches for, modifying any package that needs to have a Redhat logo, or whatever. You're not going to be able to just drop a PNG file into a directory and have it magically show up in apps... Simon.
