Hallo,

I am using a self compiled LFS-7.9 Version / BLFS-Version 2016-07-01. As I have already built several systems "from the scratch", I would like to change now the procedure, if possible I remember an e-mail from Bruce, telling that he not more builds LFS/BLFS from the scratch for his own use, but he upgrades the programs which have changed in the meantime.

I would  therefore like to copy my actual programs in an empty partition and start compiling every unit who has changed, not touching the others. As an example, I would build GCC, who has changed, but not ncurses, who remained unchanged. And I would do the compilation in the same order as the book indicates. After that, more or less the same with BLFS. Is this a way which can be followed ?

Thank you very much for advises !

Edgar
