Missing apng patch ? I was going to suggest maybe 1.6.31 was too
old, but I now see that I was using 1.6.31 with 55.0.3.
I will also mention, particularly in the light of intel's comments
this week about the latest vulnerabilities, that only versions of
firefox (and other browsers with javascript) released this year have
the mitigations for Spectre (i.e. less exact timings in the js
code).
