Greetings all;
Cups 2.2.8 has a bug with desktop managers (Gnome and KDE confirmed, not
sure about others), which causes it to get stuck in a cpu-intensive
loop, and in the case of plasma, causes plasma as well to use all
available cores at 50%+.

This patch from arch successfully resolves the problem:
