I install glib2 after Xorg, but that should not make a difference.
Not everything important is a program, from my log of installing 8.3
the references to Gio-2.0 were:

/usr/lib/girrepository-1.0/Gio-2.0.typelib
/usr/share/gir-1.0/Gio-2.0.gir
