I haven't installed gutenprint and it doesn't seem to be needed by
hplip-3.19.3 or 3.19.6.

net-snmp is listed as optional in the two hplip versions I have built
and I don't currently need network support for the device, though I may
try rebuilding with it later.

In 3.19.3 and 3.19.6 configure --help says this is
"(default=no)(Deprecated)" and both build without it.

These look like requirements for a network connection, which again is
not something I currently need.

In contrast, my device seems to require the binary plugin to use the
scanner, which I finally got working (see my followup DJ Lucas).
