Building for ARM raspberry pi is easier than building for AMD64 or X86, A

Really ?
Yes really, I gave up after 3 years of a non bootable system.
On the ARM platform it worked first time, that is after I figured put
the CFLAGS and system build type.
Again everything just works, so far.
I don't think I will have any issues building a desktop system either.
My initial reaction was "You cannot be serious!" (in a John McEnroe
voice). Sure, gmp etc can give issues on low-end processors (intel
from th last few years branded as celeron or pentium), but x86_64
has been basically straightforward for many years - providing you
start from a 64-bit host.
I used several 64 bit distros, at no time was I able to boot into a
working system
In the early years, grub (now grub-legacy) needed 32-bit assembler
although lilo worked on pure64 machines. But by the time 64 bit
arrived in LFS itself the build was straightforward.
I never built a 32 bit system ot tried to build a 32bit system
