Two thoughts: 1. The book's configuration for openssh prevents connecting as root, you need to login as a regular user when using openssh. 2. Maybe your firewalling (iptables, etc) - if that is the case, you should see output in the logs, and you will then need to change the settings to permit the access - a fun job, with risks of adding too much access. ĸen -- +++ OUT OF CHEESE ERROR.
