Donnie, If all you need to do is play a sound when incoming messages have arrived (in Outlook Express):
With Outlook Express running, and while looking at a message list, Click Tools, Click Options, Shift-tab once to General, Tab four times to "Play sound when new messages arrive", Press space to check, Tab or shift-tab to the Okay button, Press Enter. This sets it up so that a particular sound will play when any new messages arrive into your in-box. Hope this helps. These folders receive emails from various groups that I am a member of. Before the individual folder sounds would work, I had to go into my control panel and turn off the sound for my inbox.
