Donnie,

If all you need to do is play a sound when incoming messages have arrived (in
Outlook Express):

With Outlook Express running,
and while looking at a message list,
Click Tools,
Click Options,
Shift-tab once to General,
Tab four times to "Play sound when new messages arrive",
Press space to check,
Tab or shift-tab to the Okay button,
Press Enter.

This sets it up so that a particular sound will play when any new messages
arrive into your in-box.

Hope this helps.

Mark

No Ricque. I want just one sound for all of the emails that come into my
inbox. I never know what
is coming into my inbox. I just want to create a sound for it whenever
anything comes there. The
other folders that I have created are
1. JAWS-Users
2. Blind Handy Man
3. Blind Like Me
4. Blind-Computing
5. White House Clinic (where my wife works)
For all of these folders I had to highlight the group address, and create a
folder with a particular
sound for each folder, and the group emails go into their respected folder with
a sound playing
when it arrives. Going into my inbox is just a variety of random emails that I
get during the day.
So, I am wanting to create a sound that will play whenever one of these random
emails arrives in the
inbox. I hope all of this rambling is making sense to you.

Hi Donnie,
Am I understanding you correctly,
you wish to have individual sounds applied to specific e-mails that come
into the, In-Box?
In other words, if you have 5 different people's messages coming into the
In-Box, you want a sound for each person's message.

Subject: [Blind-Computing] Creating Folder Sounds

I have 5 folders in Outlook 2000 that I have created a sound for, when an
email arrives in that
folder. These folders receive emails from various groups that I am a member
of. Before the
individual folder sounds would work, I had to go into my control panel and
turn off the sound for my
inbox. I still have a variety of odd and end emails come into my inbox.
The various emails that
continue to come into my inbox does not have a sound to be played when they
arrive. What I am
wanting to know is, is there a way that I can go ahead and create a sound
for the assorted emails
that come into my inbox, without causing interference with the sounds of the
other folders. If so,
please give me instructions on how to do this. I have tried following the
same steps that I used
for creating sounds for the other folders, but for some reason I can't
create a sound for my inbox
in the same way. Thanks for any help that I can get on this subject.
