Hi Chris, I believe what Carliss is looking for is a setting to keep Narrator from loading at startup. The suggestion you gave works well,, after Windows has already booted, and Narrator is already speaking. Also, if I'm not mistaken this is for Vista. Alt tab to the Narrator Window and press x to activate the exit button. If prompted, press y and Narrator will quit and stay quit until you manually re-launch it. Hope that helps.
