Well, here's what I did:

I got one of those cables you use on portable speakers, it has one stereo
plug and two mono plugs. Basically, I used it in reverse. I got a
stereo-to-stereo double female thing from Radio Shack and plugged the stereo
end of the cable into that, then plubbed my stereo headphones into the other
end. Then, I plugged the two mono plugs into my two devices, a pacmate and
a 'puter. It worked very well, still does I guess, and of course, the pm
came through in one ear and the 'puter came through in the other.

Subject: [Blind-Computing] Two computers, one set of head-phones

Hi folks,

I am currently using my laptop as the world's most expensive
MP-3 player and my desktop machine for creating my quality
assurance reports.
What I want to accomplish is listening to both computers
with one set of head-phones. In both cases I am dealing with
mono voice signals so the set up will not require much
sophistication. Wireless would be really nice but not
necessary.
I attempted to explain my needs to one of the hero's at Best
Buy and lost him at screen reading software. I know this is
probably a no brainer once I know the bits and pieces to ask
for.
I could also use some recommendations on some good quality
head-phones that can be worn for extended periods of time.

Regards

Larry Stansifer
