When it come time to plug things back in, here are some things to think
about.

USB devices don't care if you plug them back into the same jack you
unplugged them from.

Serial and Parallel device can give you trouble if not plugged into the same
jack. Thus, you might want to write yourself a note to witch device came
out of which jack. (i.e. the port on the right versus the port on the left,
The port closest to the USB jack, the port on the right side of the
computer, etc.)

If using the PS/2 keyboard and mouse connectors, again you might want to
make a note to yourself to the location of these jacks.

Monitor cables can only be connected in one direction and I've never seen a
case where they could fit into the wrong jack.

When ever plugging in a cable, do not force it.

Be sure the shape of the end of the cable matches that of the jack where you
are trying to plug it in.

When you are packing your computer up, unplug one cable at a time. before
moving the cable away from the computer plug the cable back into the jack.
This will give you a feel of how things should feel when it is matched up
correctly.

HTH,
Annette
