Hi Lisa. AVG starts a scan and then minimizes and gets out of the way so you can keep working. Don't worry; it's normal and won't hurt your computer any. If you want to interactwith it, you can find it in the system tray, and it will be called "complete test". If you do the standard stuff to get a context menu to come up, you can cancel or pause the scan if you need to. I hope this helps.
