Maybe the instructor expected the students to use the JAWS skim feature to find the specific spot in the document?

I'm trying to see if I can find help for a friend of mine. She's taking a computer class at Los Angeles Braille Institute. She's learning to do find and replace. She got the first steps of it right. What she had to do was open a document and find the word "work". She found the word and pressed enter. Her instructor told her then to find question 29 in the document. She found 29 but her instructor told her the question would read out to her automatically when she hit enter but that didn't happen. I don't know how to help her at this point because I never had to find a specific question in a document. Any tips and pointers you could give me for her would be very much appreciated.
