There is an adapter that you plug into the audio out jack on your computer,
TV, radio, MP3 player, etc. that will transmit a Bluetooth signal that can
be received by a Bluetooth headset, or ear piece.  Radio Shack sells these
transmitters.  One brand is called Jabra.

Hi, do they work on things like radios, televisions, etc? In other words, do
they have to have bluetooth capabilities before you can listen to audio
through bluetooth headsets? I never quite understood how they work, apart
from the fact that they're bluetooth and uses the A2DP profile, or something
like that. Thanks in advance.

One form of Bluetooth listening involves an audio adapter that plugs into
the computer, and transmits to headphones that you wear.
I use an audio adapter with a standard Bluetooth headset.
