Hello Chris.  It worked for me.  I had problems that sounded very much like 
the ones described on that web site.  I deleted Internet Explorer 
completely, then re-loaded one I had obtained from the Microsoft  site, 
http://www.microsoft.com.
The results were quite rewarding.
