Hi:

We just purchased a Tivo unit. I installed Tivo Desktop 2.5 on my XP Pro
computer and I am able to transfer programs from the Tivo to my PC very
easily. It works great with Jaws 6.2. Once the programs are transfered
from the Tivo to the PC, you can play them using Windows Media player.

Unfortunately, the Tivo unit itself is not accessible to the blind, unless
there is some type of voice prompt mode that can be enabled.

BTW, if you enable the server option in the Tivo Desktop software, you can
play music and display photos that are stored on your PC, on the Tivo
attached to your TV. We did this with several movie files that were stored
on my PC and they played well on the Tivo.
We have a Tivo Series 2 with the Tivo wireless USB adapter.

Subject: [Blind-Computing] Accessing TiVo or other computer based
TVrecording solutions

Hello All,
I have a friend who would like to use his computer to access some type of TV
recording solution such as TiVo. He is running JAWS 8.x on a Windows XP
professional
computer. Does he have to consider moving over to VISTA to accomplish
this? Is this possible with the XP OS? What will he need?
Thanks,
Annette
