I don't feel that you are in error so far as that goes, but I'm not sure
we're both on the same page so to speak. Yes a wireless router can be part
of a modem allowing for multiple computers to share an internet connection,
but the unit you have probably doesn't allow you to transfer files from your
PC to an external hard drive. Let me know of course if it is capable of that
function.

Hi David,

If I recall, some models of routers will come with their own USB hub
attached to it.

I have seen external hard drives with their power supplies, as I have one
sitting right next to me.

I have also seen various USB devices with their own power supply, but since
the USB hub comes directly attached to the router, it functions as a router
for all computer attached to it, allowing for the computer to connect to any
device attached to the hub portion of it.

This is what I was referring to.

Does this beast exist, or am I wrong about this?

Victor
