For about two weeks now, my computer has been behaving strangely. A message appears on my screen asking whether I wish to send an error report to Microsoft for their attention and when I click on "Send error report" I am taken to a help site which informs me that for some reason a device driver has caused Windows to stop running thereby creating what is called a windows stop error. The system has recovered from a fatal error and to fix this problem I need to restart the computer. The only other problem I encounter is when I use my McAfee antivirus programme I also get a message from Spamfighter that there is a conflict between that software and McAfee, which I have reported and am awaiting a reply. Has anybody on this list encountered these problems and what can be done about it? I am also wondering whether my hard drive is malfunctioning. A few years ago when I owned a different computer I got a message "recovered from a fatal error" and a couple of weeks later the system crashed. All suggestions to get rid of this annoying problem would be welcome.
