Just started testing out Ubuntu, and we've been discussing it ont the BlindOpenSource mailing list.
So far I've nonly really tested it using the Live CD you can boot from, and one of the startup options lets you have it start up with it's built-in Orca screenreader, which you can alternatively get to start afterwards by using it's form of a run dialogue (Alt + F2), typing in Orca and then it should start (had one or two problems with this). Either way, while I haven't tested it too much yet, and don't actually have it installed yet, it's just nice that an operating system can have something better than the MS Narrator built-in. As far as Linux is concerned, I think the main difference is that it's really still command line based, although you do nowadays get GUIs with them, but either way, it might be better to get onto the BlindOpenSource mailing list if you want to specifically talk about things like Linux/Ubuntu. It's also on freelists, and I think (not sure) that if you send a message to [EMAIL PROTECTED] .org you should get the necessary confirmation email.
