Haven't worked on this stuff for a while, and while I do in fact want to do 
something like this using wireless networks at home, my one laptop in fact 
needs to be reloaded first, but anyway.

In the old days we'd use things like those fake IP address ranges 
(192.168.x.x) to connect the two computers across stuff like TCPIP and 
Microsoft Windows Networking, and then just sort of 'share' the actual 
internet connection off of the one that was actually connected to the router 
etc., but like I said, the last time I actually used something like this was 
a while ago.
