Hannah, it sounds to me as if he's got an Ipod Nano or some other Ipod that may be compatible with Rockbox. But yes Steve, try and send it back and exchange it for a shuffle. Then, install the version of iTunes that comes with the products, then download J-Tunes, an interface for JAWS users that allows you to use iTunes pretty much independently. Hope that helps.
