What I found at my local computer shop was pretty neat for an external device. It is a hard drive caddy that has an on/off switch and plugs into the USB port. The neat thing about this caddy is you can put whatever kind/size of internal hard drive into it you choose. If the hard drive ever goes bad you can replace it with whatever you choose. The caddy remains ok. It will accept I D E or serial A T A drives I love it
