The HOSTS file has nothing to do with how you authenticate to any given web 
site.  It only determines if your browser will navigate to the site. What 
you will most likely see are messages stating that the page cannot be 
displayed.  These messages will appear wherever the HOSTS file has blocked 
access to the particular site.  Some people do not like to see these 
messages.  They don't bother me, since I know that I would otherwise have 
all types of advertising being displayed, usually with some type of 
JavaScript that would mess with Jaws.
