You might want to check out the Braille Star 40. It is a 40 cell Braille display and can either be connected to your PC or used independently with it's own battery. The files can easily be transferred from your PC to the Braille Star for mobility or you can use it while attached to your PC. This unit is offered by Human Ware. I think it runs around $5,000.00.

I am wondering if anyone has a suggestion about the best unit to purchase which I could use for having files transmitted to me over the internet to enable me to proofread them and make corrections of errors. I need it to be the type which will let me know what cell a line starts on. For example, some paragraphs may erroneously start at cell 2 instead of cell 3, etc. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Also, I am wondering how many hours a person can use a machine like this to read braille comfortably. I have never used one before. I may proofread for hours at a time.
