BTW, you can update your drivers at HP. I normally just google for the
printer model and specify in the search for driver download XP.

Denny,

Thanks. I have an old HP all-in-one printer with fax. I use this to fax
out but have never tried to use it for incoming faxes as I only have one
phone line. When I got the unit I was using Win 2K Professional and the
software installed great. The software does not install properly with WIN
XP Pro. I can fax out ok and the scanner & printer work ok, so it has not
been a major problem. Do you have a dedicated phone line?

Al

Al,

If you are using Outlook, you can do a control shift x and it will connect
you to a selection of services for faxing. I'm not sure how well any of
them work with Jaws though.
Personally, I have an HP 3 in 1 printer scanner fax. It comes with software
that installs on your computer that is very accessible with a screen reader.
I think just about all HP 3 in 1 machines have this software with them.

Years ago when I could see I signed up for a free Fax # through Efax. The
way this worked was folks faxed info to this # and the service would then
forward the fax via email to your inbox on the computer. Once their
software program was installed you could click on what they sent and then
read it on your screen or print it out. I tried that # again last evening to
see if JAWS would read the sample fax I sent to myself. The # has been
disconnected and assigned to someone or some type voice mail.

My question is now that I use JAWS are there any similar type services
available that folks are using? If not what is the best option folks have
found to receive faxes

thanks
Al
