Sorry I have not seen this thread but one thing to consider is whether you
have a fax  on your PC or indeed any phone connection to your PC. If you
have a telephone connection to a voice or fax modem this can cause Windows
to wake up out of standby every time your phone rings. There are ways of
stopping this but just to check that this is not happening with you before I
try and think about it a bit more.

Hi, all.   We still have the problem with the stand-by setting, i.e., it
only seems to last a few minutes most times.  I have windows exp, 2003, Jaws
9.   We seem t to have eliminated the possibilities that someone is trying
to get through to our system, so far as we can.   I'd really like to save
energy by using stand-by.  Any other ideas?
