I do in fact read my GMail account with popcorn, but (and can't remember 
exact reason, but think it's something to do with secure connection for 
SMTP), but can't actually send emails with it

I think I still have version 1.0.76.0 or something and haven't tried a newer 
version in a while, so may not be a real problem anymore.

I think I also tried out another portable mail client called something like 
JPMail and it could in fact send mails, but can't remember too many details, 
and still like popcorn for other accounts where it does in fact work fine.
