I do not think NVDA directly affects the loading of a web page but I believe
it does use a virtual buffer . It is supposed to work better with FireFox
than Internet Explorer.

One thing I had to get used to was that hitting enter did not work on links
like in Jaws. I had to use the space bar instead.

Another screen reader out there is Thunder but you can only use this with
WebIE and not FireFox or IE. There is however a great suite of accessible
internet applications that can come with WebIE which will work well with any
screen reader like accessible podcaster, accessible BBC Radio 4 Listen Again
and so on.

Subject: [Blind-Computing] ended up uninstalling NVDA

Hi, everyone. I emded up uninstalling NVDA because didn't really care for
it that well. I tried to go on the internet with it but it seemed like it
took forever to load a web page. Does anyone know of a good fun free screen
reader to try out? I'm one that likes to try out new things from time to
time.

Thanks for yourhelp in advance.
Rosemarie of you
