If all you want is to add up the values in A2-A6 the formula is:
=SUM(A2:A6)
If you want a count of cells that have a value in them I don't have a clue.

in Excel, what is the hotkey or formula to add the number of items in each
cell of a column? E.G. I am sitting in Cell A10 and have data in Cells A 2
thru A 6. what is the formula to receive an answer of 5 in cell A10 for the
cells that have data in them?
My short term memory is not serving me this morning. smile.
