Hi Victor, Can you pinpoint when this started happening? Does this occur as soon as the machine is started for the first time of the day, or does the machine have to be in operation for awhile? Did you install anything such as programs, drivers or Windows updates? Two possibilities come to mind: Overheating, or a process stealing CPYU cycles. Give us a little more info, and we should be able to give some better explanations. HTH, Richard Q. Hi Folks, Really got a dilemma here. My Jaws has started stuttering. At first, this would only happen once in a blue moon, but now it's happening more and more frequently, possibly every three to four minutes. It's also not just limited to Jaws, as it happens with Winamp and sound files also. I will be listening to a sound file, and suddenly the sound file will start stuttering. The stuttering lasts from anywhere between a second to up to 3 to 5 seconds. I have looked at the processes to see if there's anything running I'm not familiar with, but as most of you know, looking at the list of processes is like looking at a foreign language. Can anyone help me figure this out? Just for FYI's sake, I have run a number of registry cleaners, or should I say that I have run Reg Scrub XP several times, I have run spyware and virus scanners, have run a scan disk and a defrag, and it's still doing it. I have to admit, it seems to cool down a bit after I've run the reg cleaner and the spyware scanners, but it goes back to stuttering after an hour or so. I really don't know what to do at this point. I'm running Jaws 9, latest build, Windows XP home, and Winamp version 5.35. In case anyone is wondering, this also happens with other programs, like Outlook Express, and even the Reg Scrub XP interface caught Jaws stuttering on some occasions. Thanks for any help you all can give me.
