Victor,
Thank you for the explanation.
My tech said he didn't need Java and that I was probably correct that it
was installed when the XP went to the shop in the fall and he uninstalled
it, so I don't have to do anything with Access Bridge.

Hi Margaret,
Dual booting means that a screen pops up before Windows loads up asking you
which version of windows you would like to boot into.
This is a common occurrence on systems that have multiple versions of
Windows installed on it.
Fir example, my brother who repairs computers for a living will sometimes
come across a version of Windows that he isn't using, but the client does.
He is using XP pro on his computer, but he has the ability to boot into
Various versions of 95, 98, XP home and even Vista.
When he boots up his computer, he will get a screen asking him which version
he would like to boot into, which he then selects and can operate his
computer using the particular version.
This also comes in handy when he has to dispense telephone support, he can
boot into the same version of Windows as the client, then he can advise them
accordingly.
Just like some people have multiple versions of Jaws installed on their
computers, for reasons I would imagine are the same, so too do people
install multiple versions of Windows.
In terms of the message of installing it in a non-standard location, this
simply means if you're going to install it on another drive other than the C
drive, or even change the folder that the installer wants to install into.
If none of these factors apply, I don't see what the harm is in installing
it.
