HI. I did figure out how to collapse an entire conversation, even hiding unread messages. It was not in a place I would have expected it to be.
Under the view menu, arrange by submenu, click on custome. Then click on other settings. I Didn't expect what I was looking for to be here because the description talked about font and table reading settings. The very last check box in the dialog that comes up says "always show unread and flagged messages in arrange by conversation." I unchecked it and got what I wanted. I've been using Outlook express for years, and Outlook 2003 is much more complex, but it definitely is also much more powerful. I switched because I don't like some of the JAWS quirks in Windows Mail on this new computer.
