I don't quite understand why you're having such problems.

Did you go with the new SBC Global/Yahoo e-mail service?

I check my friend's e-mail everyday on SBC/Yahoo and have no problems 
whatsoever.

Have you simply not switched back to the old version and gotten this problem 
fixed?

What screen reader are you using, as I have a small write up I did on how to 
check web mail using SBC Global/Yahoo servers via the mail.yahoo.com site?
