If it were internally damaged during the fall, I really doubt that there is 
anything you can do to repair the drive. There are companies that specialize 
in recovering data from damaged drives but I understand that they are 
extremely expensive. You might want to contact one of these companies to see 
if the value of the data is worth the cost of recovery. I wouldn't open up 
the drive until you figure that you have nothing to lose.
