I think you need to do some diagnostics for us to help. These are fairly
standard steps for many of these sorts of problems.

First of all try to see if this is a Screenreader or a Windows problem. The
easiest way to do this is to load another Screenreader to see if the problem
persists. For example if you are using Jaws then switch to the free NVDA or
Thunder Screenreader . If the problem persists across different screen
readers this tends to indicate a Windows problem. If it is specific to say
Jaws then we can narrow things down a bit. If you have sighted assistance
they can also report if the problem persists without any Screenreader
loaded.

Rather than go through all the possible outcomes and actions try this and
report back and we'll probably be able to advise further. If you are using
Jaws I can make some suggestions. There are some changes to Windows settings
which may also help. It would be useful also to know if there has been any
software installed recently on your system.

Regards

David Griffith

Hi Bob!
So far I could notice it in Textpal or when chatting on MSN or Skype;
haven't noticed anything significant in OE yet but then I haven't written
too many messages since then.

It might help to know what program you are using when these things happen...

Subject: [Blind-Computing] Weird typing problem

Hi!
Recently I started to have a weird problem while typing; suddenly some signs
get added just like that to the text; those are mainly accents or inverted
exclaims or such weird signs not much used or even hardly readable by JAWS;
and I don't even have to be close to the keys to press them by accident,
they just get added at random. Any idea what would cause this and how to fix
it?
Thanks in advance for any help.
Martina
