I think the normal work around for this sort of problem is to use something like Sendspace which are free web based services set up for this sort of thing. Using this kind of service you upload your big zip file and then simply email a link to the person you want to send the files to and they then download from there. You have to provide an email address to register. I would advise not using your main email address. Perhaps set up a free yahoo email account to use. Nothing against Sendspace but I think this is sensible policy for any "free" service wanting your email address.
