Hi, this is not actually an e-mail client, so in that front I apologize for the aronious information. However, the programme not only notifies you of new e-mail, but also allow you to read and write them as well. Advantages over Outlook Express? Well if you have more than one provider, and any of those do not provide Pop/Imap/SMTP protocols but provide webmail services, you can use this programme to read and write e-mails to and from your webmail account(s) without having to go to their website and loggin in from your web browser. For example, I have both a Googlemail and a Hotmail account, and, as we all know, Hotmail doesn't traditionally provide Pop/SMTP access, so I can just use this programme to connect to the Hotmail servers, retrieve my mail, read them, reply to them, etc, without having to go to the website to log into what would be a cluttered interface from my web browser. Also, unlike Outlook Express, there are more ways to customize the programme, such as audio/visual notifications, etc. Also, Pop Peeper supports various plugins, including one that allows you to "tweak" the programme. Hope this helps.
