I agree, same thing here. I believe what is happening is AVG scans files
before they open. However, this is very annoying and in my opinion should
not take as long as it does

Subject: [Blind-Computing] AVG 7.5 & Office 2000

Hello,

I also have a problem with AVG 7.5 the paid version and using Office 2000.
Everytime I open a saved .doc or .xls file there seems to be a long lag
before the files open or before I can hear any info of said file. I keep
these stored in folders in my documents.
They do eventually open and I am able to read them as usual, but that lag
before I do hear anything is rather annoying.
Does anyone know why this might be occuring and what if any can be done to
speed things up?

I am currently using Jaws 8, xp pro, Office 2000 and AVG pro 7.5

Thanks,

Patricia
