Hello, John.
John Justice here.
Excel is built on a grid system in which the horizontal rows are numbered
and the vertical rows are lettered in their default configuration. Before
it is modified, Excel will present an almost limitless number of rows in
either direction. The problem is getting the finished product onto a print
page.
It is possible to identify the vertical columns with labels or, if you
prefer, to label each horizontal row. When it's printed, to refresh your
memory, Excel forms a printed set of boxes, so many across and usually 25
rows deep.

NAVIGATION WITH JAWS:
The Jaws 9 is an excellent tool for working with Excel. For basic
navigation, the Alt Control Down Arrow is what moves your operating cursor
up and down while the Tab and Shift Tab keys make it possible to navigate
horizontally. Jaws provides some really well designed scripts which will
allow you to move quickly from one place to another. All of the basic Jaws
function keys are listed in the manual. I believe that some of them are
also available in a Quick Help option which is accessible by pressing
either the Insert W or Insert H keys.

In the Jaws manual, you will find a main title called "Key Strokes" and if
you press Enter on that title, then press F6, one of the links is for spread
sheets and financial information. Within that choice, you will find an
entire book of instructions for the navigation of Excel using Jaws.

I hope this helps, John.
Excel is not an easy program to use but it is very Jaws friendly. A lot of
work has gone into programming Jaws to work with this spread sheet.
