Don't know about Vista, but, FWIW, I think I'm going to have to reload my machine to fix my problems since I can't even make changes without errors popping up before/after on my windows XP machine, and I did sort of manage to get it to make changes by selecting a voice in the klango player (SAPI working in parts), but my 'defaults' don't seem to necessarily carry over to other parts of the OS, so who knows.
