The find function control f works perfectly unless you use Firefox 3.  I don't
know what the firecracker sound affect you are speaking of is, but I mainly use
it just to browse.  I prefer to use Firefox.  There are a few sites that work
better with IE but that's about the only draw-back as most work fine with
Firefox.
