Hi Daleen,
Give this a try:
1. Go to the control panel, then display, and press enter.
2. When the display properties opens, shift tab once, then right arrow once, 
this should place you on the desktop tab.
3. Tab to customize desktop button, and press the spacebar.
4. When this dialogue opens, you will be presented with a list of 3-state 
buttons,
so down arrow to the one for my network places, and spacebar to check it.
5. Okay your way out of the display properties, and Alt F4, to close the 
control panel, you are done.
