Hi all,
I went to look at my friend's HP laptop running XP Home SP3 today, and I've noticed some problems with it. First, a DVD I created earlier on today refused to read despite it being a DVD-RW drive. It didn't even spin, and, when I tried to access what was the D drive from the run dialogue box, I received the following error: "d:\ is not accessible. The requested operation was not performed due to a device i/o error" Something like that. What on earth does this mean, and how can I fix it please? Also, on her start menu, the internet link is broken (it asks what programme to run instead of opening Internet Explorer), yet her Internet Explorer icon on the desktop opens correctly. Again how can I fix this please? It would be useful to have these answers by next Saturday morning at the latest please as that's when I'll be looking at it more.
Thanks in advance for any help regarding these.
