Chris: Just wondering, did these problems show up after the upgrade to service pack 3? If so, might want to do a system restore to return to service pack 2. Service pack 3 doesn't work successfully on all windows XP systems. My wife's work computer wouldn't grant access to the internet after the upgrade. Returned to SP2, and the internet connection was restored.
Reese ----- Original Message ----- Hi all, I went to look at my friend's HP laptop running XP Home SP3 today, and I've noticed some problems with it. First, a DVD I created earlier on today refused to read despite it being a DVD-RW drive. It didn't even spin, and, when I tried to access what was the D drive from the run dialogue box, I received the following error: "d:\ is not accessible. The requested operation was not performed due to a device i/o error" Something like that. What on earth does this mean, and how can I fix it please?
