A friend of mine is running JAWS 9 and has just started experiencing a problem
with his laptop where every program he launches will run for a few minutes and
then lock up. He has tried Instant Messenger, Windows Mail, and Windows Media
Player. After the program crashes, JAWS will stop speaking for a couple of
minutes and then start speaking again, randomly. Even when it is speaking, It
doesn't speak the key commands. The key commands seem to be working, though.
He has run a defrag, disk check, and uninstalled and reinstalled JAWS. He did
have the JAWS 10 beta running on his system until it expired about a week ago.
I uninstalled it. He is running Windows Vista. Any ideas as to what is going
on, or how to fix it would be greatly appreciated.
