The Prefetch file is a list of index pointers that Windows uses to load
applications more rapidly. Instead of searching the entire C drive to find
the particular application to load after it has been launched, Windows first
searches the Prefetch file for its corresponding index pointer. A myth has
been circulating for years that claims that deleting the contents of the
Prefetch file can enhance system performance by freeing up disk space. In
reality, deleting the contents of the Prefetch file will actually slow down
system performance, because it will take Windows longer to search for a
launched application. Eventually, Windows automatically generates new
entries in the Prefetch file anyway, so that any perceived benefit is
short-lived. Deleting the contents of the Prefetch file will cause no harm,
but there is absolutely no benefit to doing so, especially if your C drive
has a lot of free space.

Has anyone ever hear of prefect?
I might not be spelling it correctly.
If you type it into the run section it is suppose to help the performance
of your computer.
If you know the correct spelling can you let me know?
