Annette,
Have him turn the new and improved Narator with Windows plus U then press
alt N. It reads the set up screens very well. My wife just got her new Dell
laptop this past Tuesday and it took only a few minutes to set up. Your

Subject: [Blind-Computing] JAWS & a new laptop with VISTA Home Premium

I have a friend who was given a Brand new Del Studio 17 laptop with VISTA
Premium, and he has a few questions about getting started.

When he turns the computer on for the first time, will he need to go through
a start up process that will ask him all types of questions? If so, is
there
anyway to avoid this process since JAWS is not yet installed?

Will JAWS 8.x work with VISTA Home Premium?

Thanks,

Annette
