I used this back when I was still running AVG 7.50. I now use AVG 8.2
I do not have this problem any longer with AVG 8, but if your still using
AVG 7.5 then you can disabled that email scanning thingy you mention here by
following the simple steps within these instructions.
I am thinking AVG 8 compiled my AVG 7.5 settings so nothing in regards to
the email scanning/scanner had to be changed. I just took a peek and all is
the same from before using AVG 7.5
Look under AVG components spacebar it in the list, then you should be able
to arrow to the email section then once there you have to tab to the
configure button to make these changes listed in this email.

Hi:
thatmust be the email scanner that my husband put on my computer with AVG
8. It
drives me crazy because while I'm reading my email it keeps saying email
scanner
if emails are coming in. It says it after every few words. In fact the
email
was a bit confusing to me because I had trouble telling if you were
writing
email scanner, or if it was the plugin doing it. How do I stop it from
vocalizing? Perhaps if I study this email enough I can get it. I'm slow.

Alex,
Maybe this will be of help>?
E-mail Scanner
E-mail Scanner Component - Plugins Tab
The E-mail Scanner component operates all installed plugins for e-mail
scanning, e.g. plugins for The BAT!, Qualcomm Eudora, Microsoft Outlook,
and
the
Personal E-mail Scanner for any other e-mail client.
To change the parameters for a plugin, select it from the Installed
plugins
drop-down menu.
Check the Ignore plugin status box to hide potential error status of the
selected plugin.
Select the Use the shared test configuration option to make the plugin use
the same settings as any other plugins which use the shared test
configuration.
This shared configuration can be modified (click the Configure button to
activate the E-mail Scanner settings dialog); a predefined configuration
for
the
Personal E-mail Scanner is set by default.
If you select the Use the personal test configuration option then the
default configuration of the test is also derived from the Personal E-mail
Scanner
test configuration. However, after clicking the Configure button you can
edit the test configuration which will then be used for the selected
plugin
only.
If your selected plugin is the Personal E-mail Scanner, Properties and
Disable plugin buttons will also be available.
Press the Properties button to bring up the Personal E-mail Scanner
Properties dialog.
Press the Disable plugin button to deactivate the Personal E-mail Scanner.
(This button is also available for the AVG MS Outlook Extension.)
Click the OK button to confirm your settings and close the dialog.
Click the Cancel button to close the dialog without confirming your
settings.
Click the Apply button to confirm your settings without closing the
dialog.

Subject: [Blind-Computing] add-ins in Outlook 2007
Outlook 2007 seems to have unilaterally taken it upon itself to disable
one
of my add-ons. Just out of interest the one for AVG antivirus. This
means
that whenever I open an e-mail I get about eight dozen messages telling
me
the add-on has been disabled. I'd like to reenable the add-in, but I
can't
find the add-ins anywhere. In Outlook 2003, it was easy, they were in
options advanced or somewhere like that! Any help would be most welcome!
Cheers
Alex
